Mystical Bond between Man and Dog

When I got my “real” first dogs, I immediately felt this bond between me and the dogs.

Not sure why.. or how, but i felt this connection to the dog.  Of course, a dog is a four legged animal from the k-9 world.. and I’m … well, me. But it’s like I knew them.. or had this strange sensation that my past, present, and future were somehow connected to their.  Almost as if by design.

When I a movie about Hachiko, the loyal dog from Japan who waited for his master for 10 years at a train station, I couldn’t help but feel his pain. (Reminds me of when my grandma died and I felt like Hachiko.)

When my dog is sick, I can’t help but feel helpless knowing that I’ve done everything (medicine, vet, etc.) and I can’t do anything more until his body naturally recovers.

Starting out PawshPal, I really didn’t know how strong this connection to dog was. If I write about an article relating to emotional aspects of the dog world… such as dog abuse, dogs giving their lives for their masters, dogs doing insanely smart things, dog doing out of ordinary things, I get intense amount of comments.. often times, bringing down the server.

I don’t know what it is… when I look into the eyes of a dog, I feel like I’m going back into time to the days when the first caveman met the first wolf… and instead of fighting and killing each other, they somehow “agreed” to be each other’s companion.

Everyday, I am more and more fascinated by the number of commands and implicit body language my dog Cocoa can understand. He’s like a human friend.. except he’s furrier, walks on four legs, barks, and has a cock abnormally large for his body.

I digress.

I am so glad to have explored this part of me that I never knew existed.

PawshPal will be a great success. I can feel it.
