Virgin Mobile Broadband Sucks Ass

3g speeds huh?

I didn’t know dial up modem speed was considered 3g. Maybe 3g stands for “3 goobers” who sell you worthless crap service.

The login page told me that i used 4,xxx,xxx MB in the past month. Ladies and gentleman, that’s  4 TERABYTES.

The entire month I got service at my place for about 30 kbps. Let’s see here… if i were downloading EVERY second of EVERY day.. that would be

30 days x 24 hours/day x 60 minutes/hour x 60 seconds / minute = 2592000 seconds

30 kilobytes/sec x 2592000 seconds = 77760000 kilobytes = 77,760 megabytes = 77 gigabytes

Uh right… i download 4 terabytes.

Maybe I should stop watching HOT HD porn videos of Virgin Mobile customer support reps having sex instead of helping customers. (This dumb ass told me it might be my computer so I need to reboot. Please.. if you’re the rep reading this, do us a favor and strangle yourself with a phone cord.)

    Horrible. It went from just ok to sucks overnight.
    Hope anybody considering buying one stumbles across this first.Now the sessions go “dormant”. Did it on me trying to download anti-virus program. Maybe Virgin was worried it would tell me they Sucked!!

    Mine also showed four terabytes of usage- FOUR TERABYTES!!! Every last bit of information in the Library of Congress totals ten terabytes! I used the service for my iPhone at home (and then only for non-video usage, since the connection wouldn’t work for that), and to do a 2 gigabyte update on my Mac. Since I’ve never used more than 10 gigs on the iPhone in a month (heaviest usage ever – normally about 3 gigs) this does not compute. The damn thing flashes even when I’m not using it, which clearly shows that it is transmitting when it shouldn’t be. The webpage shows that it uses data one per hour (on the hour) when I’m at work or asleep. There is something seriously wrong with this service. Today I called for help downloading a file, and was told “there is an outage going on right now.” This is all well and good, but I hadn’t provided my number or location before being informed of this. Gee, a global outage, huh? When I asked what areas were affected they couldn’t tell me.

    Compeltely true. twenty-five percent of the time when I top-up (pay-as-u-get screwed plan), my account immediately loses 37 MB due to a “processing problem”, EVEN IF I DON”T GO TO A SINGLE WEBSITE. Of course the “helpline” only helps customers waste their time. How is there not a class-action lawsuit yet?

    ah, customer service is actually polite, i think they feel for your s l o w suffering. the connection or should i say absence of it completely blows, the slowest ever. may as well use dialup. want my money back.

    Virgin internet does suck. I agree with all the posts on here. It torks me off when I want to watch a video or watch Hulu all it does it buffer and buffer and buffer. I bought the crap service before I knew it was crap. I bought it because I travel at times and like to take it with me. Well, I am moving to a different city and once I am settled in I will go with a REAL internet provider. I can’t believe the prices they charge for this garbage service. Then to top it off I can’t even log into my account to pay it as it constantly won’t accept my password I have set up with the service. I e-mailed Virgin about the sitaution and they e-mail back saying I wasn’t using the right account number. What a bunch of idiots because I have been using the same account number every month for nearly a year. The problem is they will not log me in when I put in my password. Shows they place the blame on the customer instead of admitting they are the screw ups. That is one thing I cannot stand is when a corporate business says the customer is not doing something right when the customer knows more about computers and the net then they do. The constant pointing fingers on the customer just shows me they are big time screw ups. I am paying $50.00 per month and I would rather pay that $50.00 per month plus more for a better service, but it won’t be Virgin. I really don’t understand how a place like this can stay in business as most are unhappy with it. I think they need to be shut down and the worms who own it can eat canned soup ever night as they lost their business due to poor service. Anyone thinking of getting Virgin broadband better think twice. Go somewhere else where you will get decent service. :mad: Ha ha, it’s kind of ironic as I was writing this Virgin disconnected me. I will be so happy to get a REAL internet provider.

    I wish I saw this post before spending two days trying to figure out why my shitty ass Virgin Mobile Broadband wasn’t working. This is the most disappointing electronics purchase I have made in the last 10 years! Don’t even get me started on their support. Virgin has the ABSOLUTE WORST support team ever!!! It was painful to hear these people who speak about 10 words of english try to fumble around with the same instructions that come with the device trying to re-walk you through the activation steps. Complete frickin idiots. I wish I could have the 3 hours of my life back that I was on the phone with them.

    This is going back to Walmart today, and they better not give me any hassle either about trying to return it. Or, I’m turning it over to American Express to deal with and get my money back.

    This is my first and last Virgin Mobile purchase ever.

    For my travel laptop I purchased 6 gb for 100 days. after 45 days I was told to recharge. Checked my meter 2.9gb used! Rep told me it was my computer I have NEVER used that amount before They allegedly had monitored 1gb in 24 hrs!!! This was from checking emails and the odd youtube video. My home network with same usage never clocks over 1gb per month
    I was “refunded” 2GB. In one week after 900mb on my meter I was told to recharge.
